Dec. 4th, is the biggest Supreme Courtcase of our children’s livesSex changes for minorsThe United States v Skrmetti is not only the biggest Supreme Court case of the year, but it will determine the futures of millions of children across America.The United States v Skrmetti is not only the biggest Supreme Court case of the year, but it will determine the futures of millions of children across America.Oral arguments will be heard on the case that will ultimately decide if states have the right to ban “gender affirming healthcare” for minors.19 states have enacted bans so far; this decision will have far-reaching effects.Tomorrow, it’s Tennessee in the spotlight.Back in 2023 under the leadership of Tennessee’s Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti, the state enacted a ban on sex change treatments for children. The ban includes hormonal treatments, puberty blockers, and surgical treatments.Right after the law was passed, the Department of Justice in partnership with a group of “trans” youth petitioned for an injunction in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.The court granted the injunction on the basis that 14th amendment rights were being violated.The 14th Amendment’s main purpose is anti-discrimination - to ensure that everyone is treated equally under the law. Famous 14th amendment cases include Brown v Board of Education which ended segregated schools and Title IX which protected girls’ and women’s rights in educational activities like sports.But this isn’t a discrimination case about sex or gender, as the petitioners claim. The Tennessee law makes distinctions based on age and the medical purposes for specific drugs and surgeries. For example, a 16 year old getting a mastectomy because she has breast cancer is leagues apart from that same girl having a mastectomy because she’s been convinced she might be a boy.The Tennessee law is rational, unlike any argument in favor of gender ideology.The lower court injunction was eventually overturned by the 6th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, and the Tennessee ban on gender affirming care for minors is back in effect.For now.Tomorrow, the entire world is watching. Activists on both sides of the issue have flocked to the Supreme Court. There will be speeches and gaggles of press on the steps outside in the cold, and the court’s chambers will be at capacity.Opponents of the Tennessee law insist that gender affirming care is safe, ethical, and lifesaving. What they don’t mention is that it’s experimental, dangerous, and lucrative.📷📷Supporters of the law are armed with mounting evidence that this form of “healthcare” is anything but, and leaves children in worse shape emotionally, physically, and socially than before treatment.
