Who Is The Salt And Light Council?
The Salt and Light Council is comprised of Christian church leaders who have started, or are interested in starting, their own Salt and Light affiliate ministries. The Council provides a structure and readiness for a quick response to issues that surface attacking family values and God’s Non-Negotiable moral values. Through a united effort, churches will all be able to mobilize and work quickly to be Salt and Light and affect change as necessary.
The Salt and Light Council endeavors to be a one-stop, unified website resource for pastors and future Salt and Light leaders to download information on how to start and maintain a Salt and Light ministry and to prioritize and consolidate breaking news and issues. We focus and prioritize issues and use effective ways to take action.
We have refined a model that can be used effectively by all churches so there will be no need to "reinvent the wheel" or duplicate efforts. Several newly planted Salt & Light ministries have used this model, demonstrating both the need and growth opportunity within the church body.
Salt and Light Ministry Affiliates are volunteers that assist the Church and work only with the express permission of their Pastor.
The Salt and Light Council has applied for 501(c)(3) non-profit status and is currently being funded by a generous donor.
Why The Salt And Light Council Was Formed?
Underneath the radar of many concerned citizens in 2007, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill into law in California which foisted homosexuality upon the children of that state through the state school system. The bill was SB777 and it clearly perverts and redefines what sexuality is, as well as promotes the legitimacy of homosexuality upon children starting from kindergarten on up.
Then in 2008, four activist judges on the California Supreme Court voted to overturn Prop 22 voted on by the people in 2000, and with a large margin of 61.2% to 38.6%, to make homosexual marriage legal.
These two acts aroused the attention and action of Pastors and alarmed congregations into unified battle for marriage and families in California. By a narrow margin, traditional marriage stays intact for now, but those opposing the ruling are not accepting the outcome of the election and are rallying to overturn the vote. Thus, the battle rages on. Those with a homosexual agenda continue to fight to steal the innocence from our children and redefine marriage and family. They won’t take No for an answer and continue with new, clever marketing strategies in an effort to wear down our resolve.
These blatant and coercive attacks on Christian beliefs create moral confusion and spill over into all aspects of our country weakening and rendering many hopeless in this country because of the pandering to a small minority. This country, founded on freedom of speech and religion, is being hijacked by immoral government officials in appointed positions, in the media and in our educational systems ushering in a new world, one without God nor accountability for flagrant actions.
Americans need to come together and find a way to hold these people accountable for their flagrant actions while we can. God has abundantly blessed this country and we must unite and do what he has asked us to do. We must stand firm in the face of evil. However, time is running out. We have a small window of opportunity to reverse this decline and maybe the only way is through the bold leadership and teachings of the church who are the last great hope and moral voice left.
Salt and Light has been formed to encourage churches to reclaim their rightful position as the moral guides of society. People are hungry for the truth and heed fearless leadership.
May the Lord Bless us and grant our country and church leadership mercy. May He lead Salt and Light on his path of righteousness in this endeavor.
