[From http://creationcareminute.org] Obedient stewardship of the natural environment, or creation care, isn’t a secular issue or part of a political agenda. It’s a God-given command and privilege bestowed upon humankind from the beginning of the world. Genesis 2:15 says that “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” 

All that God created—from the oceans and the stars to the smallest flower or the youngest bird—he declared good: “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good” (Genesis 1:31). But evil and sin have polluted, distorted, and destroyed much of that good creation. Fortunately, through the power of Christ we anticipate the fulfillment of a “new heaven and a new earth” (Rev. 21:1). And while we lament and repent for the destruction it has undergone, we also work for creation’s healing in the hope of its ultimate restoration by God (Isaiah 11:1-9; Romans 8:21)....
