Our mission is to inform, inspire and equip churches to network together to defend and advance traditional marriage, life and liberty through a citizenship ministry called Salt and Light.
The Salt and Light Council is a non-profit coalition of church leadership who are active Salt and Light Ministries. The Council is an advisory team who assist in the development of new Salt and Light Ministries. This website has been established as a clearinghouse of information on how to start and maintain active Salt and Light Ministries and to be a resource for “priority” issues, events and education.
The Salt and Light Council exists to:
+ Build a network of churches to defend and advance family values through truth, action and change
+ Establish a common foundation between churches on fundamental moral issues
+ Train and equip church leadership to have an active Salt and Light Ministry Affiliate
+ Provide legal and Pastoral support
+ Be a complete resource for starting and maintaining a Salt and Light Ministry Affiliate
+ Measure public policies and legislation from a Biblical perspective
+ Provide newsletters, action alerts or petition drives as necessary for each Salt and Light Ministry Affiliate on a timely basis
+ Engage churches to take action together (on the same issues, at the same time) in hopes to reverse this moral decline and to change policies and government leadership to be more family friendly
+ Clarify God’s Biblical Non-Negotiable Moral Values and provide resources in education
+ To put faith into action
Individual Salt and Light Ministry Affiliates exist to:
+ Pray for our state, nation, world and elected officials
+ Inspire, equip and empower the church body to defend and advance Christian life, marriage and family values
+ Engage the body to take action on issues presented by the Salt and Light Council in order to fulfill the mission: Mobilizing churches to stand together for truth moral, legal issues.
Together we have impact….divided, we will continue to fall.
+ Update Pastoral staff on issues and legislation for united action between Pastoral staff, leaders and body
+ Help change secular worldview Christians to committed Christians with a biblical worldview who can reach people for Christ using educational resource material available from the Salt and Light Council
+ Develop Values Voters who will defend this country and uphold its values and use their influence in local communities, culture and government
+ Raise up future local community leaders that support and uphold Biblical standards in government
